Outfit of the Day: That Gingham Smock Dress

Spring has officially sprung. The clocks have gone forward and we're finally seeing a little more sun in our day. Naturally, it's time to start cracking out the cotton dresses once more and, having recently stumbled across this gingham dress of dreams, it's time for a seasonal Outfit of the Day....

The past few weeks have proven to be quite eventful to say the least. Today will be my working last day at my current agency - somewhere I've grown a lot over three years. Whilst it wasn't an easy decision to leave the comfort of somewhere secure and with amazing people, I somehow landed my dream job in Leicester Square and I had to take a chance on myself. Of course, the thought of working somewhere I've hoped of being for years equally fills me excitement and fear but I am ready for a new adventure. I think I need to take more chances and get out of my comfort zone more often. A prime example being that I'm too worried to even share where I'll be working just in case it goes wrong - classic Sophie catastrophic thinking. However, once I'm settled and worked out what their policy is on sharing your job, I promise to be a bit more open about it.

So whilst today is one of mixed emotions, at the forefront I'm excited. I head off to Germany tomorrow to clear my head and have an awesome few days before starting a new chapter. I haven't had even a few minutes to pack or plan the itinerary yet but I can't wait.

Obviously, in my suitcase will be the dress pictured above. I'd been searching for a specific type of gingham smock dress online and on places such as eBay, Depop and other various sites for ages but I finally found it - and it was £13 in Primark of all places. Luckily it's been quite warm this week so I kept it simple with my trusty fedora and Dr Martens duo (my favourite Saddle bag and Polleys).

Well, that's it for another random rambling and an outfit of the day. I'm off to get my shit together and enjoy my last day at work. Don't forget, I love reading your comments so please do leave me lots of lovely ones down below.

Until next time,

Outfit of the Day: Into the Woods with Public Desire

This week, myself and my super talented photographer friend, Eleanor, headed over to Richmond Park for a long overdue catch up. Having received a rather gorgeous pair of new boots that same week, I thought our stroll would be the perfect opportunity to break them in and get a few snaps. Here's a little look...

New year, new boots. Public Desire are no stranger to Popcorn and Glitter - in fact some of my favourite outfit posts have featured their amazing boots. This one makes for no exception. Last week these floral babes showed up on my desk and what can I say about them? You only have to look them to see why they tick all my boxes. Not only are they velvet and floral but thankfully they are super comfy too. The heel height is just right for me as I never wear heels. To showcase them in the manner they deserve, I've kept my outfit simple and all black (no change there) although being so cold, the faux fur was a necessity.

I've paired it with the Coralie Ruffle dress although, sadly, this was far too short to wear outside the house. Luckily, it makes for a perfectly fine top. To top it all off, I wore my favourite belt and, of course, my trusty fedora and velvet choker necklace.

Well, that's it for another Outfit of the Day. Have you shopped with Public Desire before? What do you think of my floral favourites above? As usual I love reading your comments so please do leave me lots of lovely ones down below.

Until next time,

Outfit of the Day: Stayin' In or Slayin' on NYE

Boohoo Outfit of the day post
Where has the year gone, already? No matter what you're feelings are on 2016, the chances are you'll be either celebrating it's departure or it's successes this New Year's Eve. Whether you're stayin' in or slayin' (or both) - I thought I'd share my NYE outfit in collaboration with Boohoo.

ASOS orange faux fur coat
I'm usually up for going out on New Years. I'm quite sentimental when it comes to reigning in a new year and, if it meant a night with my best friends, why not? Due to our scheduling and relocating, we haven't managed to meet up this time and Jack and I are contemplating the ultimate night-in and leaving it to the last minute to plan anything instead. I'm not sure whether it's just because we're getting 'old' but sometimes I really do look forward to enjoying a fine meal and cuddling up in front of a good movie in our cozy flat. Luckily, whether I decide to stay in or go out, Boohoo have got me covered with a snazzy Party Dress AND some comfy loungewear.

I opted for something that can be dressed up or down (whilst also containing my boobs). I opted for the Becca Velvet Shirt Dress which seemed to be fit the bill very nicely. Not only is it black to match the rest of my wardrobe, but at this time of year I can't pass up anything in velvet. I really love the cut out style of this dress and, being a baggier fit, it makes for a super comfortable yet flattering going-out dress which can also be worn with thicker tights and flats for a dressed up every day look. For my night in, however...

Who says I only wear black? I was immediately attracted to these jersey pyjamas in ombre rainbow print. You may not be able to tell from the photos but they're actually t-shirt material which means they're both breathable but also snug, a bit like a jumpsuit. I'm a bit of an odd, hour-glass shape so I can be fussy with pyjamas sometimes but these are baggy in all the right places - and fitted where I need them to be also. If you're planning on a festive night-in, I'd definitely recommend grabbing a pair of these babies, getting some good grub, enjoying some new Blu-rays and bringing in the New Year in style.

I know it's been a tough year for some but when I look back, this year was totally great for me on a personal level. Tonight, no matter what plans I decide, I'll be celebrating. When I look back at my goals from last year, I'm actually pretty proud of myself for achieving pretty much all of them. I got another job promotion, I got a beautiful flat with my boyfriend and we started putting away for some up and coming world travels. I've met some incredible people and lost no real friends - how can I complain? So what are your plans for this New Year's? Did you manage to tick off your goals for the year? Whether you're staying in or going out, I'd love to know and, as always, I love reading your comments so please do leave me lots of lovely ones down below.

Until 2017, Happy New Year everyone -
