Lifestyle Event: UK Blog Awards Meet Up with EE
EE bloggers EE bloggers meet up Lights of Soho London neon lights Neon lights in London UK Blog AwardsWith just two weeks to go until this year's UK Blog Awards, I was invited along for the pre-award meet up. Held at Lights of Soho, it was a chance to catch up with some of the finalists, network with some fellow bloggers - all in collaboration with EE. Here's a little look at the evening...
For those of you who may not be aware of the UK Blog Awards yet, it is a yearly event which commends a multitude of influencers and social media talent. With ODEON Cinemas as their headline sponsor for the second year in a row, it looks set to be another fantastic evening and a great chance for brands and bloggers to come together to celebrate the power of outreach. However, before we get too excited for the actual awards evening, EE kindly organised a pre-awards meet up to give the organisers and finalists a chance to network in a more relaxed setting.
Held at the stunning Neon Light gallery and Members Club, Lights of Soho, the meet- up was an evening of food, drinks and networking with fellow influencers and the core team from EE. After getting to know everyone and a chance to meet some new bloggers, Director of Communications and Sponsorship at EE and UKBA17 Digital and Technology judge, Mat Sears, gave a brief chat on upcoming EE campaigns - including their sponsorship of Glastonbury Festival and the latest product launches. Following an insightful speech from Mat, we finished up the evening with some amazing pizza treats from Pizza Pilgrims as well as a ticket competition which gave eight lucky winners the chance to attend this year's ceremony.
I think the key message to take away from the evening was that the UK Blog Awards is not about showcasing the elite. Some of the bloggers I spoke to had been blogging for only a few months or perhaps hadn't quite met their target goal of followers. But it's not just about how many followers you have - it's about your reach and the quality content you create. In fact, one of the things I really loved about last year's awards (besides meeting new friends), was that it had such a unique blend of people and content creators - all in one room.
Just some of the amazing bloggers I was fortunate enough to meet at this event included K from Scoop Mag, Charlie from Charlie Friend and Jasmine from The Life of a Social Butterfly so I'm really looking forward to seeing them again in a few weeks.
Well, that's it for another blogger event. Are you attending this year's UK Blog Awards on 21st April? Don't forget to come say "hi" if you spot me. I had a great evening meeting some amazing bloggers and influencers and am really looking forward to meeting more of you.
Until next time,
