Good corn Harvest in Mato Grosso

Good corn Harvest in Mato Grosso

By Eduardo Paim:

The corn harvest has already started in northern Mato Grosso, and the productions are surprising, we are harvesting 20% to 30% more than we expected! The soybean harvest was over and great too!

Soybeans, Corn, Corruption

Soybeans, Corn, Corruption

By Eduardo Paim:

We have the soybean harvest finished in Brazil, it is certain that the production is record in all the states. With the accusations of corruption of the Brazilian government we had a sudden rise of the dollar and this caused the sale of soybean in large productions. Last Thursday of last week. High stocks on farms are still a concern for all farmers, today our prices depend on the Chicago Stock Exchange and corruption scandals that are always raising the dollar's prices in our country and causing better prices. We know that if the US produces a large crop of soybeans, prices must drop dramatically, that's what we expect for prices. The good thing is that we have a large soybean crop.

Let's start harvesting the corn in 20 or 30 days, the rains were perfect for corn, we will also have a large grain crop in Brazil. The prices are also small with the large production and with the largest cattle slaughterhouses in Brazil involved in the corruption scandals and the uncertainty will be paid to the cattle producers when they deliver their cattle for slaughter. We are living a year complicated with corruption, the strategy is to sell for price that does not harm as quickly as possible, because we do not know what will be the economic destination of the country.

Good Soybean Harvest in Brazil

Good Soybean Harvest in Brazil

By Eduardo Paim:

The soybean harvest was great in Brazil, most of the states have already closed the harvest, the states further north, Bahia, Maranhão, Piaui and Tocantis are beginning to harvest, and the crop will be good, too. We have good corn crops second crop. Corn and soybean yields are great here in Brazil. Argentina has yet to show its crop yields, many rains have flooded the crops at planting and now at the harvest new floods have occurred, it is still uncertain!

Soybean Harvest Almost Done in Brazil

Soybean Harvest Almost Done in Brazil

By Eduardo Paim:

Good Morning! Here in Mato Grosso we are closing the soybean crop, productivity will be a record! The climate is perfect for harvesting and production. Overall the average should be between 65 bags per hectare and 70 bags per hectare. The planting of the second crop corn is developing well, with good rains for the development of the plants.

Harvest in Mato Grosso

Harvest in Mato Grosso

By Eduardo Paim:

The climate has become perfect for the soybean harvest and for the second corn crop. In the month of February we had many rains in Mato Grosso, there were soybean crops that were flooded by the waters, but this will not promote a big fall in soy production. I believe we are on our way to a big harvest in Brazil. We still have the states of Bahia, Maranhão, Tocantins and Piaui that suffered from the lack of rainfall and still did not harvest their crops. Another expectation is to know about the production of Argentina.

Soybean Harvest started in Mato Grosso

Soybean Harvest started in Mato Grosso

By Eduardo Paim:

Here in Mato Grosso soybeans have already begun to be harvested, in the north of the state some farmers are complaining that it is raining a lot and this can damage the quality of the grain. The average production is excellent for these first crops that are being harvested, 60 bags per hectare. In general Mato Grosso already has 15% harvested. Here in the south the harvest has already begun and the production is excellent!

Rainfall can change the quality of crops and productivity, and we have heavy rainfall forecast to fall in February.

Soybeans in Brazil Looking Mixed

Soybeans in Brazil Looking Mixed

By Eduardo Paim:

Good morning mate! I've been away for a while. Here in Mato Grosso we are looking at a very good soybean crop, I believe it will be a record of this production. In the states of Bahia, Piauí, Maranhão and Tocantins there was a lack of rainfall and some crops were replanted. In the states of Rio Grande do Sul, Paraná and Santa Catarina there was an excess of rainfall, which affected the crops. In Brazil in general I believe that on average we will have a good harvest! Argentina It has great problems with excess of chucas in part of the country and drought in another part of the country, I believe that this year will have great damages in soybean and corn, now it is left to plant wheat to recover part.

Second Crop Corn IN Brazil

Second Crop Corn IN Brazil

By Eduardo Paim:

For here we are not having good rains; lack of rainfall is hampering the development of second crop corn. The same regions that suffered from lack of rains for soybeans are suffering from lack of rain now in corn.

The states of Bahia, Tocantins, Maranhao and Piaui are finishing harvest of soybean and productivity reduction is greater than 30%.
For corn second crop should be reduced between 10% and 15% in production in Brazil.

The government of Brazil / COBNAB are not talking about real numbers about our production, they say that we will reap most of what is real.

Soybean Harvest wrapping up in Brazil

Soybean Harvest wrapping up in Brazil

By Eduardo Paim:

Here in Brazil we have 97% of the harvested soybeans, will certainly be a reduction in soybean production, the Brazilian government is saying that we will produce 100 million tons of soy, I do not believe and most producers do not believe! In the states of Bahi, Maranhão, Tocantins, Piaui and northern Mato Grosso drought was very strong and had a lot of productivity reduction. In the state of Piaui reduction comes at 70% for soybeans and 80% for the corn crop. I believe the truth is that Brazil will produce 97 million to 98 million tons of soybeans. For the second crop corn we are having good weather in Brazil and by the time the producers think they will have a normal production on average of 90 bags of maize per hectare.

Report on Brazilian Soybean Harvest

Report on Brazilian Soybean Harvest

By Eduardo Paim:

I'm taking time to post comments because we are going through moments that are not yet defined as to how  extensive, but we have to problems with soybean harvest and the production will be reduced. What I have to say is that professionals are confirming the production curtailments in northern Mato Grosso, the states of Bahia, Tocantins, Maranhao and Piaui. These have not had rain between soybean planting and flower time, birth pod and grain filling had little rainfall and intense heat. In northern Mato Grosso parts of farms are not harvested because the soybean crop that was in not paying the Diesel machine. breaks range from 20% to 60% of some farms. In the states of Parana, Mato Grosso do Sul state had a lot of rain at harvest and a lot of soybeans harvested with breakdowns (rotten). In the south of Mato Grosso we are having a normal soybean harvest. It is still uncertain about the soybean production break in Brazil, but certainly any production above 100 million tons is no exaggeration! The weather is good for planting corn second crop (off-season), many northern producers of Mato Grosso decided to increase corn acreage to try to reduce the losses of the soybean crop that was bad, all going well, we have a lot of corn here.

Soybean Harvest in Brazil

Soybean Harvest in Brazil

By Eduardo Paim:

i'm trying to understand how soybean production in Mato Grossowill be; with this reason I am slow to send news. The producers of the North are harvesting soybeans and averages are varying a lot, some farm harvesting soybean30 bags per ha farm and another has harvested 60 bags per hectare. The harvest in the South and the rest of Mato Grosso started and is starting very well. Here in the South we are averaging so far of 64 bags per hectare. The weather is very hot and little rain. We need rain for plants that are still developing, but overall, I would say today that we still need to wait to see the end of the harvest is going to have a great reduction or not.

Soybean Harvest in Brazil

Soybean Harvest in Brazil

By Eduardo Paim:

The soybean harvest is beginning in northern Mato Grosso; rainfall is damaging the harvest in the last 12 days. It has rained every day and the sun does not appear!
The first farms that are early harvesting of soy shortest cycle and having 50% to 60% in production.

Soybean Harvest in Mato Grosso

Soybean Harvest in Mato Grosso

By Eduardo Paim:

Here in Mato Grosso harvest began in the fields of soybeans that were irrigated with pivot; the farms that suffered from the dry soy is not ready to be harvested. The month of December 2015 was dry in northern Mato Groso, the states of Bahia, Maranhão and Tocantins. We are returning to have good rains near the beginning of 2016. Now the concern of northern soybean producers in Mato Grosso is whether the rains will be intense and prevent making a good harvest. Yet one can not say that there is a reduction in productivity. In the city of Canarana-MT, today I heard that producers still have finishing planting of soybeans, it is already too late for that!

Weather in Brazil

By Eduardo Paim:

Here in Brazil the El nino is being seen across the country, in southern Brazil have a lot of rain and West in the center near the South are having normal rains in the northern Midwest are having lack of rain. Northern Brazil is being punished by lack of rain!

I will summarize in two problems I look now, in southern Brazil, in the states of Parana, Santa Catarina and Rio Grande do Sul producers are failing to apply protectants to kill caterpillars, bugs and control Asian rust, the state Paraná is the second largest producer in Brazil, and the sun has not appeared much there and soybeans are already suffering from lack of sun. The forecast for the South is over three months of too much rain.

In the Midwest, the nearest part of the South are having good rainfall, it is not missing. In northern Midwest we are already seeing soybeans suffer from the lack of rainfall and the heat is killing the crops. Some areas have had two replants and there is no longer time for the third soybean replant. In northern Mato Grosso harvest should begin in January, but this year I do not think that will be possible. Mato Grosso is the largest producer of grains in Brazil.
We have large grain producers, as well as Mato Grosso and Paraná. the states of Bahia, Tocantins, Maranhão who are suffering from the lack of rain and soybeans is dying, and are.

It's too early to tell if all goes well in the fields of Brazil!

Mato Grosso Moisture is Short for Planting.

Mato Grosso Moisture is Short for Planting.

By Eduardo Paim:

I see the very divergent information, foreign markets are seeing something that I believe is not as certain as the traders think. They speak in good weather in general in South America, but here in Mato Grosso, the largest soy producer in Brazil we still have very erratic weather, lack of rain in the north and we are already in December!

In some northern soybean crops, the heat is so much that the plants are dying, and some farms already had two replantings because of deaths by strong heat.

We have so much to happen until we get "all quiet".

Weather in Brazil Not great for Planting

Weather in Brazil Not great for Planting

By Eduardo Paim:

Last week I sent you a notice that we were happy and having good rains for our soybean crops and producers returned to planting after 20 days without rain.

We had only five days of good rain and then it stopped again raining on Friday (11.13.15) we have completed 15 days again without rain and very hot. In northern Mato Grosso, where planting should have ended, farmers still have not put a seed in the ground for lack of rain. I believed that the problem of rain was resolved, but I see it will be a very difficult year for crops, low rainfall and very hot.

The soybean planting is delayed by three weeks in Mato Grosso.

Soybean Planting Delayed in Brazil

Soybean Planting Delayed in Brazil

By Eduardo Paim:

Here in Mato Grosso are seeing the very different weather than anything we have seen. At the end of past week (9, 10 and 11) weather was very cold in some cities in the state and this is not normal for this time of year. After the cold ended, it began the very strong heat that made all the farmers keep their machines at home and stop the planting of soybeans. The heat is very strong and early planted soybeans with slightly damp soil are dead and these areas will be planted again. We have few crops planted in soil with low moisture. It is not very important to the damaged soybeans that died. We forecast that the rains should return this weekend, we're three weeks behind a perfect planting to make the second crop with corn planting after harvesting the 1st soybean crops. As the soybean planting is delayed I do not believe that the whole maize crop second crop will be planted. It's been over six years since we had such a strong heat here in Mato Grosso.

Soybean Planting Time

Soybean Planting Time

By Eduardo Paim:

Here in Mato Grosso are having a very hot week, the rains that were in  the forecast to begin in early October are not coming. In northern Mato Grosso where there should have been planting they are still stopped by lack of rain and it is getting worrisome. Farmers who we  talked to are concerned; if the rains are delayed another week already we enter the risk area and may compromise planting the second crop of corn.

Farmers wanted to plant in early October soybeans in order to have a good second crop of corn.

We have farms that receive good rain and another nearby farm that has not received any rain.

Update From Brazil

Update From Brazil

By Eduardo Paim,

It is dropping a good rain in Mato Grosso right now, but most of the state's southern producers will not start planting because weather forecasts say the rains will only have continuous flow after October 15. In upstate planting of soybeans will start in about two weeks, the rains will start there first.

Corn Harvest in Brazil

Corn Harvest in Brazil

By Eduardo Paim:

Here in Mato Grosso in areas that are reaping corn safrinha (second crop) 2015 producers are not very happy with the production, they expected average harvest of 130 to 140 bags per hectare, but are noticing a reduction of 15% in production. The problem is not only in reducing production, farmers are reaping poor quality corn, with moldy corn, and burned up with a white layer of plaster.

I heard the same reports to the State of Parana.

Producers are putting the bad quality of and low productivity on diseases, because there was too much rain that caused these problems.
